Lily (aka Lil Frey) entered the world at 11:03pm last night; only 50 minutes after we got to the hospital!! The nurse examined Lisa and said that she was already at 9cm and that an epidural was probably not possible. However, the nurse, Sally, tackled the anesthesiologist in the hallway and made him come in and give Lisa a dose. Well, she got the dose at about 10:35 and it didn’t really kick in. So, that’s as close to natural childbirth as Lisa will ever get! Extremely painful, but fortunately extremely fast!
Here’s the stats:
height: 20 inches
weight: 7 lbs. 5 oz.
hair: medium brown. Not as much as Sydney.
She is a beautiful baby (not that I’m biased) and mom and baby are doing great. Sydney and I just got to the hospital and Sydney just met her new sister and opened some “big sister” presents. (I’m actually writing this post from the hospital room)
I will try to put some pics on here this afternoon during Sydney’s (much needed) nap.
We are obviously extremely excited and blessed to have this addition to our family!
Chris’ ass hurts – Happy Easter
I’m sometimes reminded of the lengthy trip from St. Louis to Fort Wayne, Indiana back in somewhere around 1995 to see Queensryche; where, for a majority of the time, I had to sit on “the hump” in the back seat. Not one to keep my thoughts to myself, I would regularly announce that “my ass hurts”. It has become quite the running joke among the guys. Today, however, it was this cartoon from my dad that reminded me of my acute posterial discomfort:
