Bringing you Alex’s most dangerous thoughts since 2006

Grocery store December 8, 2008

This past weekend was pretty busy. Saturday morning we got going early to see Santa at the Botanical Garden, something we’ve done for several years now. The kids had put together lists of what they wanted by cutting and pasting from magazines and got to give those to Santa. Beck made it through without freaking out, so that was a good first for him. :) He wasn’t happy, but at least he sat long enough for a picture.

The Garden also has their holiday model train show going on and the kids always have a blast looking at the trains and the displays. Every time a train would come around again Beck would say “There’s another one!”. Never got old.

Then on Sunday, our occasional baby sitter took the kids over just for fun to her house to decorate cookies and little trees which she’s done the last few years. They had a blast and got all hopped up on sugar. On the way home, she was driving them home in our van and had a blow-out. Fortunately she was able to quickly pull over with no problems. Always good to drop a few $100 on tires out of nowhere.

Truman got to over to his best friend’s house that afternoon too.

The funniest thing though was every Monday Ella has a school assignment to draw a picture of what she did over the weekend and write (as best she can) what it was.

She chose (in face of the above competition) to draw “went to the grocery store with Dad”. That’s both heartwarming and irrational all at the same time.
