Beck @ home June 22, 2006

Here’s the latest batch of pictures.

Beck came home this week and has been great so far. Unbelievably, I think he’s a better sleeper than Ella! Probably a match during the day but definitely better at night. He’s actually out pretty soundly for 3 hrs at a time, which is as good as I’d expect for a little guy.

Today he had a couple longer wakey periods although he mostly seems confused. Maybe he wants some coffee?

Beck-elicious June 19, 2006

I put up some new pictures of Beck and the other kids.

Beck has been doing great so far. He’s a really calm little guy most of the time and sleeps a lot. (They all sucker you in the hospital though and save all the crying for home.) The doctors all say he looks good and he passed his hearing check, etc. He’s been a bit yellow today but they did a blood test and said he was ok for jaundice. He’s actually been so sleepy that he has to be woken up to eat.

It looks we’ll probably take the little guy home tomorrow (Tuesday), probably sometime in the evening. Mary could have stayed till Wednesday but she’s pretty sick of the bed and having a hard time sleeping, plus she misses the other kids, so we’re shooting for one night early.

Announcing…

A brand new baby!

Beck Lincoln was born this morning at 4:58 AM and baby and mother are doing great. He was 8 pounds even and 20.5 inches long. He’s got a bunch of soft dark hair and is looks a little like each of the other kids. He definitely has my eyebrows (my apologies kid). So far, he’s basically sleeping, so he’s the perfect baby.

I’ll get some pics up when I get a chance over the next couple days.

A thick slice of funk June 14, 2006

Filed under: music, web — Alex @ 9:00 pm

If you like funk (and if you don’t, you should really see someone about that), then you should check out this band Breakestra. They’re an 8-piece funk orchestra from LA based on the concept of jamming over breaks. The web site lets you stream some of the tracks if you want to have a listen.

The album is available from emusic.com. If you register for www.emusic.com, you get 25 free downloads in the first month, after which you can cancel if you want. In other words, this thick slice of funk is available to you, right now, for nothing. What are you waiting for?

PS. You might also be interested to know that emusic just added Funkadelic to their catalog.
